FL Approval Watch
Florida product approvals: status, revisions, NOA expirations, weekly changes

About this site

FL Approval Watch is a lookup for Florida product approvals. Every window, door, shutter, roofing product and panel used on a Florida permit needs an FL number or a Miami-Dade NOA, and those approvals keep moving: revisions, renewals, new filings and, for Miami-Dade NOAs, expiration dates.

The state's product approval search has the answers, but it's slow going. It's one application at a time, with no view by brand and no easy way to see what has moved. We wanted one list: each FL number, where it stands, and when that changed.

The current focus is the 9th Edition (2026) Florida Building Code, which takes effect on December 31, 2026. Every approval used on a permit has to hold up under it, so thousands of FL numbers are being revised, affirmed or re-filed. After that date the site keeps going: tracking revisions, new approvals and the numbers that still haven't been updated.

The list is maintained by Michael Yaffe, a Florida-licensed architect (FL license AR103314). Questions and corrections go to info@flapprovalwatch.com.

This site is independent and unofficial. It isn't run by or connected to the Florida Building Commission, DBPR or Miami-Dade County. It isn't an approval, and it isn't engineering or legal advice. The state record is the record.
